Airbus Wing Integration Centre 360 Virtual Tour

, , ,

The Advanced Wing Integration Centre (AWIC), located at Airbus Filton, is a cutting-edge £45 million research facility dedicated to the development of large structural components found in today’s modern Airbus aircraft. This state-of-the-art centre plays a crucial role in advancing aerospace technology, housing specialised research laboratories, high-tech equipment rooms for testing innovative aeronautical systems, and two impressive strong walls—each capable of withstanding the weight of 240 cars or supporting an entire aircraft wing.

For AWIC’s highly anticipated launch event, we were commissioned to create an interactive 360° virtual tour, showcasing the facility’s key areas and groundbreaking research. Over the course of the project, we captured 15 high-resolution scenes throughout the building, incorporating interactive Hotspots, immersive content, and still imagery to highlight the cutting-edge processes and advanced equipment used in the development of next-generation commercial aircraft.

To maximise engagement and reach, the virtual tour was distributed globally alongside press releases, ensuring that media outlets and industry experts worldwide could experience AWIC’s innovations firsthand.

Next time you step aboard an Airbus aircraft, there’s a good chance that some of its most advanced components were developed by the engineers and researchers at this remarkable facility!
